We do not often dedicate time to explicitly introducing Career Development concepts to younger students (Pre-Year 9). This Australian National Careers Week (May 11-17th), we are inviting you to help change that by sharing a Career Development experience with students in this age group.

To support you, we have created a virtual “Backpack” containing a wide range of resources that are freely available or accessible at minimal cost. The Backpack includes suggested classroom activities and ideas, along with links to relevant themes aligned to the Australian Blueprint for Career Development.

During Australian Careers Week (11–17 May 2026), we ask that you activate at least one activity with a year group—or more, if you are feeling adventurous—focused on Strength Awareness through a Career Development lens. Please title your session “I Am Becoming”.

We encourage you to share your preparation and planning, the delivery of the activity, and a short reflection or summary via your social media channels using the hashtags #ACCE, #ncwau26, and #IAMBECOMING.

All participating schools and educators who complete the process will go into the draw to win a Career Development Backpack, packed with resources to support your ongoing work with younger students throughout the year.

We will also showcase selected stories in our Journal to celebrate the creativity, innovation and impact happening in classrooms across Australia.
