Trauma-informed care for career practitioners working in schools and education
This workshop led by Dr Clare Finegan focuses on the impact of trauma and the importance of professional self- care within education and career guidance sector.
The session will explore how trauma can affect students engagement, emotional wellbeing and career development. Particular attention is given to students and staff in high- pressure roles who often face unique emotional and performance- related challenges.
This workshop will introduce trauma- informed principles such as safety, trust, empowerment and collaboration with the spotlight on how career practitioners can support students more effectively without risking re-traumatisation. Crucially the session will address the need for self-care among educators and practitioners offering practical strategies to manage stress, avoid burnout and build emotionally sustainable practices in your work.
